Morning sickness

In early pregnancy, especially during first three months, you may experience nausea and vomiting. Though it may happen during any time of the day, most frequently it is experienced in morning after getting up.

If it’s in moderate amounts and does not cause dehydration it is normal. Hormonal changes like rise in HcG and serotonin, may cause it in early pregnancy.

How to prevent it?

  • Avoid foods which make you nauseous, it differs from individual to individual.
  • Avoid having spicy and too rich food.
  • Don’t get out of bed in the morning empty stomach, and don’t move too quickly.
  • Have frequent small meals.
  • Eat lots of nutritious and fruits and vegetables rich in water content like tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, grapes, watermelon.
  • Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration
  • Always keep nutritious and light snacks with you like biscuit or dry fruit, so that you can have them if you feel dizzy.
  • Avoid smoking and too much of caffeine and tea
  • Wearing loose clothes also help in feeling less nauseous.

How to relieve it?

Treatment during pregnancy is not aimed at removing the cause, for pregnancy is the cause, it is aimed at relieving the symptoms.
