Do you know why you love your childhood and why you keep on becoming nostalgic again and again in remembrance of those golden innocent memories? Well, because childhood is free of worries and tensions. There is no stress, only hope and desires. But as you grow old your expectations and ambitions throw you in the gamut of competition which is a vicious cycle and from which there is no escape. All these hectic activities give rise to stress and many times our body and mental health succumb under this uncontrollable burden.

Clinically speaking, stress is caused by the outside pressure on our body and mind. Certain common symptoms of stress are irritability, lack of concentration, inability to perform regular tasks easily, and headache, racing heart or body pain.  Although it’s certainly not possible to keep away from stress, it can at least be controlled and kept to a level so that our body or mind does not get negatively affected by it.  Too much stress can also lead to addiction to smoking or alcohol, disruption in marital relationship and loss of job due to poor performance.

 

Here are some of the tips to curtail odds.

  • Start keeping a diary of your day to day activity and write down which things make you more stressful. Many people get affected due to heavy traffic jam or there are some persons which you cannot avoid but are very irritating to you. Put down all these stress triggers in your diary at least for a month. You can now easily find out which things or people causes you stress and try to avoid it or finish up the cause. For example, if too much traffic jams during the early office hours causes you stress then try making an early start from home so that you are relaxed while driving.
  • Share your problems or stress with friends, spouse or relatives. If there are some personal reasons for stress, interaction is the best way of solving it. Official problems can be solved by sharing your tensions with senior or colleague with whom you are friendly enough to open your heart.
  • Everyday set aside some time for stress bursting exercises. Breathing and relaxation techniques work wonders in case of tensions. They also help you think more optimistically and keep you relaxed throughout the day.
  • Indulge in a hobby or a passion. It can be anything from listening to music or playing musical instrument, watching hilarious movies, sports and sports activities, reading books or even writing. These help you forget your problems for a while and relieve you of stress.
  • If the problems related to stress are going out of hand, it is always advisable to get an expert opinion. He can guide you in your effort to remain free of stress and help you to come out of it successfully.

These simple tips to avoid stress are very useful and if supplemented with committed efforts give good results.
